Job Description

Our client is a well-established small business located in Dublin City Centre. They are seeking an Company Accountant/Bookkeeper for a permanent, full time role in the business.

This is a standalone role in the business but would come with full support of an outsourced accounting team. The role would report directly into the senior leadership team of the business, with scope to develop into a more strategic finance role over time.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with external accountants on Management and Year End Accounts. 

  • Manage the inter-company loan under the direction of the accountants. 

  • Prepare regulatory returns. 

  • Set up RCT contracts and manage. 

  • Invoice management – review, post and track. 

  • Interact with subcontractors regarding invoice errors, credit notes etc. 

  • Manage the accounts package (Xero) - post invoices and run monthly Aged Payables Reports to assist with bank drawdowns and payments. 

  • Purchase Order (PO) management – reducing the POs, not creating them.

  • Manage retentions and timelines. 

  • Reporting. 

  • Making payments online (dual authentication process in place). 

  • Bank reconciliation. 

  • General administration, if required.


  • Ideally an IATI, accounting degree or accounting qualification (part qualified fine)

  • Circa 3+ years accounts experience within a small or medium business

  • Experience within the engineering, property or construction sector a distinct advantage

  • Exposure to Xero software a plus

  • Strong communication skills
